99 txt knock after rebuild please help
ok guys i rebuilt my 99 txt and i put it together and it had a knock so i took it out and tore it down and one of the rods was hanging up a lil bit so i clean up the crank and put it back together and it moved smoothly. when i go to turn it over i hear a knock. i think it it the crank and balancer gears but i dont think it should be making this noise, anyone else had this problem? and can anyone help me?

Do you have everything set correctly internally?I'm not familar with the setup on those motors,but on standard OHV motors,if the cam isn't timed correctly,the rod can hit the cam-lobes.I would pull the cover and recheck your setup.Hope this helps.

The same thing is happening to my engine. The ends of the connecting rods are
Hitting the balancer shaft. Do you remember the position of the alignment dot that is on the crank shaft gear. I think we can help one another out if you do. |
