Polaris Gem Motor Arcing
Hi all. I bought 5 Polaris Gem 72V at auction recently snd am slowly putting batteries in them and getting them running. Last night I put new batteries in one that has obviously been sitting for a while. After hooking everything up, it didn’t want to move at first, but after a few seconds started driving but I could smell burning. I immediately stopped and investigated and it looks like when I accelerate the end of the motor arcs pretty badly.
I have a lot of experience with other carts, but not these. My first thought was the brushes in the motor could be hanging up causing excessive arcing, but j wanted others input before I troubleshoot this weekend. It is a 2013 or 2014 ES2 or eLX, I’ll have to check. |
