Default Testing Solenoids

I have an early 80's Clubcar electric that I have a problem with in that when the accelerator is pushed there is no slow start. This problem came on all of the sudden. You push the pedal and it almost gives you whiplash. I have replaced the box with the switches that the accelerator rod goes in to but that did not solve the problem. Is there a way to test the solenoids? I tried to listen for the clicks but the motor noise is so loud I can't hear them.

Just a guess, but I would assume the final solenoid closest to the motor is stuck in the closed position... So everytime you trigger in, it goes straight to full speed. It makes for an interesting ride.

Keep in mind though, I was concerned with my GI Joes when that car was made...

I believe the second solenoid is bad.Second from the drivers side.First sol.is activating cart second is first speed and so on.So it's jumping to second speed on the start or possibably third speed.

Well, as it turns out the solenoid on the driver side end was good and the one on the passenger side end was bad so go figure. I just knew it would not be the 1st one I changed out. This thing was jumping from nothing to high for some reason but the bad one was on the passenger side end.
