Won't move forward
I have a 1990 model ezgo that I converted to a resistor cart I can get it to go in reverse but I have no forward. When it is put in forward the contacts spark some then the connection on the f n r started smoking not sure what to check

Re: Won't move forward
Sounds like the FNR switch is not making a good low impedance connection in Forward. That's why it's smoking!

Yes, increase tension on the low impedance connection

Re: Won't move forward
If its an Ezgo rotary switch tighten the center pivot shaft nut a 1/4 at a time and see if it 'fixes' it...

Re: Won't move forward
Scotty tightened the switch up and no more smoke but still won't move forward but the contacts are sparking what is causing this

Re: Won't move forward
The contacts are probably burned out to the point where that switch needs to be replaced.

Re: Won't move forward
The contacts are not in the f n r it is a resistor cart with the contact board for the speed control that's where the sparks are coming from

Okay we get it now...
It sounds like you need to rebuild the speed wiper contact board Here are some pics of what you are about to fix |
