Default Flooding

I have a 2003. Gas club car 290 engine. It will run but smokes real bad then floods out. Fuel is coming out of the carburetor into the breather hose. It will start back up and do the same thing.I put a new carburetor on and it still does the same thing so I put a new fuel pump and it still does the same thing.Any suggestions. Thanks

You changed everything it could be. Your missing something simple.

Does the motor fill up with fuel?

Check, or outright disconnect the float bowl vent tube. If those get plugged up it will keep the float from closing the needle valve.

The air box hose has been disconnected. I don't believe the motor is going filling up with fuel. I'm not sure how to disconnect the float bowl vent tube.I did remove the tube and blow into the bowl itself.I then removed the bowl which was full of fuel. Remember this is a new carb.I jacked up the rear end and pushed the throttle and started the engine. It would run for about15 second then gas would run out of the carburetor into the air box hose which I disconnected. Before it flooded out it would smoke(blue).Remember a new carb and new fuel pump has been installed trying to fix the problem. I'm stumped. If I need to go back and do something different I will.I very much appreciate everyone's help. Thanks again for all of the help.Help

hmmm, this is a curious case. Blue smoke points towards burning oil. Have you checked the valves? perhaps the intake valve isnt opening fully causing fuel to stay in the intake port and backup into the carb/airbox hose.

What if it's more of a white color..Which is really what it is.I probably should not have said blue..More like a fog.

still points at oil, oil burns a white color sometimes with a bluish tint. Does your oil smell like gas? Also, is it possible you may have it slightly over filled with oil? Check the oil smell and oil levels. What weight oil are you running? Pull the plugs too after you try to start it and see what they look like, if theyre covered in oil, wet with gas, fouled, etc.. And check the valve lash, make sure theyre properly adjusted and open/close properly. Is the carb brand new or rebuilt? Either way, it would be worth a shot to pull the float bowl and make sure the needle and float in there are properly installed and the needle is seating properly. Let me know what you find out here

Im not to sure but if it is flooding out with fuel, I think it would be in the carb. I am thinking the valve needle to cut fuel off once bowl has enough fuel in it is clogged or something is stopping it from seating and cutting off the fuel supply... If that's not closing it will not stop fuel from entering the carb...

Just trying to help..
