18 HP Vanny - Which fuel pump, electric or vacuum?
I have a 18hp Vanny, high rev, and advance timing, K&N. Pretty stock.
I am running a electric fuel pump but some people are talking about the vacuum pump. I personally would rather have one less thing to go wrong on my cart. Can anyone give me any experience with the vacuum or Electric (good or bad) What are most people running? Thanks |

I run a vacuum pump and has been no problem for many years. It's the same pump sold with the big block kits at CPP. >>http://www.cartpartsplus.com/high-volume-fuel-pump.html

Mine didn't come with fuel pump when I bought it years ago from cpp. So can I just plug it in? Obviously get a vacuum line

Mine did come with one either way back when. Yes, just run a vacuum line out of the front valve cover.

Re: 18 HP Vanny - Which fuel pump, electric or vacuum?
I know cpp has a high volume one however I believe it's just a fuel pump off a larger v twin say 24 hp or something. Anyone have any experience with the stock Briggs fuel pump, is it enough to keep up when it's spinning at 5k rpm? Should I get a stock pump for a 18hp or go with one from a bigger motor?

I was thinking about a Yamaha rhino one. You think a stock Briggs fuel pump will suffice? Any diff between that and ezgo or stock Yamaha one?

Re: 18 HP Vanny - Which fuel pump, electric or vacuum?
I have the CPP fuel pump on a 16 hp clone and on my 18 hp vanguard. The 18 has rev kit, timing key, K&N and custom exhaust. No issues with the fuel pump.
