Older Club Car 36-48v conversion?
Got a chance to pick up an '88 CC, it's a 36v with bad batteries and no charger.
Is it worth changing to 48v? What all is involved with the upgrade? |

Re: Older Club Car 36-48v conversion?
A CC is a great platform to build on. Aluminum frame means no rust. Since there aren't practically any batteries, now is a perfect time to go 48v. Site Sponsor Carts Unlimited (member on here as ScottyB) has a kit just for this (minus the batteries and charger). There are many options. Check it out HERE
I fully recommend ScottyB and his products |

Re: Older Club Car 36-48v conversion?
Ha!.. Yeah, I'm not surprised. That seems to be the way of things.
I'm sure this has been answered a thousand times, but my forum "search" won't work. I don't know if I need more posts first or..... Anyways. What speed can I expect from a stock 36v system with new batteries? With new batteries and an upgraded controller? Would that do much? With the 48v conversion? For the record, my usage will be around 90% golf course, 10% campsite. I ask, because a buddy has a Yami G1 he runs on race fuel, that hauls pretty good. |

bone stock 93 cc ds 36v i get 12.5 mph on flat ground
controller can get you 17~22 mph IMHO...golfing 90% i'd just get 36v batteries |

Re: Older Club Car 36-48v conversion?
Sure. Being my first cart, I should probably just take it one step at a time.
I am wanting a small (4") lift and some wheels and tires. Even with just the controller, would I be in decent shape? |
