36v ds frying batteries
Hello all. Im one a third set of new batteries on a 36v. It keeps frying the batteries charging overnight. I got a brand new charger and the third battery pack yesterday and it fried the batteries again last night. Any ideas? Everything is hooked up and working properly just doesnt take a charge overnight without frying them.

I guess the first question is: What voltage is the charger putting out? Second question: If this is occurring overnight why do you keep doing it over and over? Last question: How are the batteries wired?....when you install the new batteries and measure pack voltage what is that voltage?

its a 36v crowfoot charger. First pack i figured was just bad. Second pack good batteries and driving then put on charger and fried the batts. Third pack got new charger so figured all good. Charged overnight and fried it again on a third pack of batts. Yes it is wired right, I can drive it and everything is fine but charging it fries them.

What theboss was suggesting is that maybe the wires between the crowfoot socket and the battery pack are accidentally short-wired to charge only 5 (or even 4) batteries. The charger would then severely overcharge the "fewer" batteries and the cart might seem normal when driving (with one battery really never being charged). Eventually the overcharged batteries wouldn't be able to take it any more. Its a very common mistake people make when they change batteries.

Make sure your battery cables are wired correctly in sequence.

What do mean by fried? Does the clear liquid turn white and solidify?
