It's about 4 hours from my house in NC, been there several times, and just loved the vibe.

Great food, great beach, and just a good place to be.

Yep it is crowded like all beaches in July and August, but the rest of the year I think it is one of the best.

I live off of 17. Charleston and all these towns around here have changed a lot in ten years since I have been here. Breakfast is cheaper than beers so that sounds plausible Kashmir. I'd rather buy an egg than a beer.

Didn't you just say awhile back you liked the Cayman's? Tough sledding living on an island if you don't like the beach.

I've been to hell...even have the t-shirt!
Admittedly, I said that I "could" live in the Caymen's, but I also said nothing as sweet as Kentucky Blue Grass.
I would prefer a day hiking at Red River Gorge over the beach any day.
I used to repel at the Gorge all of the time, but it's been about 24 years since I've done that.
I've walked a good portion of the Appalachian Trail (although not at one time). It is on my bucket list to take leave from work at some point in my life and hike the whole trail.

I've never been fishing on a lake in my life. I did spend several years in the 90's and early 2000's going tuna fishing off the atlantic coast a couple of weekends a month. My boss at the time had a 40 ft deep sea boat and we would leave out of Ocean City Maryland on Saturday mornings and come back Sunday afternoon. We'd go about 50-70 miles off the coast.
My heart will always be inland though, you can't beat the sounds and views of a forest.
