Default Use a 12V auto battery charger to test accessories?

I my 6x8 volt batteries out of my 48v CC DS custom body on 96 frame. I want to test the accessories and related wiring before install of new batteries if possible.

Can I connect my 12v auto charger to the outputs from my 48-12V converter to provide sufficient power for tests?

Any thoughts and/or other suggestions welcomed. I really don't want to lift the batteries more than I have to, and wiring much easier to get to without batteries in place.

Thanks.

Not sure if you can do that cause most battery chargers will not turn on without sensing some type of voltage. I would just hook up a separate 12 volt battery if you have one or check for continuity. You could also just do a visual inspection by checking for any burnt or swelled up wires.

Did the accessories work before you took the old batteries out or did u just buy this cart?

I would not try that. Might work but might cause failures too. Neither unit is designed for that.

It depends on the charger. Some high end DC chargers like from Victron do say they are suitable as a DC power supply.

BballBeast - I have had the cart for a long time, with periodic issues with lights, radio, front trunk release, all 12v I think

Thanks to all for responses.

Decided to not try to use the 12v auto battery charger as 12v source to test accessories.

I do have a small 12v backup battery for my internet connection box which is fully charged. Can maybe use that?
