Automatic watering system ?
I Just bought a 07 txt that has the auto battery fill system but apparently you have to have a tank or special nozzle to use it. Is there a way around that until I can get the tank here? Thanks from a much appreciative newbie!

Re: Automatic watering system ?
Recommend getting rid of the automatic water system all together. Many have had issues and cost them a battery or two because of it. Just get some caps and check them monthly.

Re: Automatic watering system ?
The auto watering systems a pretty much crap, I have a cart with one and there was one cell in a battery that was overflowing, and in the other two cells IN THE SAME BATTERY had the water level nearly below the lead plates

My cart had a BFS system on it when I bought it. I cut the quick disconnect off and stuck a small necked funnel in the tube. Some of the cells got too much, others not enough. Tried cleaning the caps/cutoff valves in an ultrasonic cleaner. Better, but still didn't work right. Ended up clipping the tubes between batteries and now have six sets of three caps connected together. They don't roll away and get lost when tied together. |

Re: Automatic watering system ?
Check local golf cart sales locations. They may have a few bad batteries to steal them from.

Re: Automatic watering system ?
There was a recent post here about several batteries exploding rather than just one due to the interconnecting tubes on a watering system acting like a fuse.
Before that, I had left the BFS system more or less intact even though I popped the caps and watered manually. After that, I clipped the tubes between batteries, so I won't get a chain fire (hopefully) if I ever do something stupid and ignite the out-gassed hydrogen. Or at least the chain fire will be limited to the cells of the same battery. |
