Increase speed?
I've got a 2007 EZ-GO Freedom(TXT) gas and I'm wanting to speed it up...don't want to get real crazy just a little more speed. How difficult is that to do?
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you. Dennis |

Re: Increase speed?
Check the thread (shorter belt and 28degree clutch) The shorter belt helped mine.

Re: Increase speed?
I am not sure if yours is different than mine, but it was real easy. Maybe someone who know about your model will chime in.

Re: Increase speed?
Tinkering with the governor can increase the speed of the cart, but if it is too far out the motor can be running at the maximum rpms which is not the best idea. A little adjustment doesn't hurt though because the factory sets them so low to begin with. If you want about a 10mph increase and want it done correctly, then purchase high speed gears for the cart, otherwise the governor will get you the speed you are looking for.

Re: Increase speed?
Thanks for all the suggestions ...I adjusted the governor when I got home tonight and it was pretty easy...I had to take the safety cover off that was riveted on with the big "warning don't adjust governor" but after I got it off I've tightened it up about a full inch and it definitely is much faster.
It seems to be running okay...it's not puttering on chocking so...I guess I'm okay? |
