Dc To Ac Conversion Completed!!
OK...I just picked my shuttle cart up from the Golf cart shop and had my AC from DC conversion completed. This thing is smokin' fast. Right now it will do about 34 mph on flats, 24mph up hills and about 15mph in golf mode.
I will post pics tomorrow and this thing surpassed my expectations. Stay tuned!!! |

Re: Dc To Ac Conversion Completed!!
Hows that work? I thought you lost all kinds of reserves when you converted dc to ac = shorter run times. In solar values, anyway.....????

Re: Dc To Ac Conversion Completed!!
You are actually suppose to get about 10-30 percent better run times due to the ac system being more efficient. Also with the regen breaking it makes the system more efficient. For example I had 88% left on my charge and went up and down a big hill twice that is about 1/5 mile long and afterwards I had 92% left on my charge....A difference of +4.

Scottyb,
It will be tonight before I can get pics and give all of the details of the conversion (honeydoos today...can't argue since the boss agreed to have the conversion done). Anyway, here is the link to the company that did my conversion with all of the particulars http://www.golfcarcatalog.com/index....archive_id=112 Enjoy, Tony |

Tony, Many thanks for posting that link. I've tryed to understand the "AC" thing thru several articals and this one is the best. Alot of "dollars", but I understand the performance are outstanding. Thanks again. Dave

Re: Dc To Ac Conversion Completed!!
Since E-Z-GO has released the AC powered RXV the prices for an AC conversion will start dropping.

Re: Dc To Ac Conversion Completed!!
The conversion is the best. No torque or speed issues. I also had an on board charger installed as well. No issues what so ever. The conversion is not cheap but I don't chase the torque vs. speed quandary as in the DC world. My understanding is that some of the carts come AC now. I think ezgo shuttle may come stock?
Hope that helps. |
