Default Re: Lithium Ezgo- an off the road project.

Works perfect in forward and reverse. It's pretty tight, doesn't allow a lot of give (factory spec is "replace if it twists with less than 75 lb/ft") . Will definitely keep both wheels spinning. I have used it in a number of other applications, including Yamaha gas (but not Team axle)

It sounds like I got the right unit.
Are the 2 gold color bolts removed once it is installed?

One thing you might do is check out a few build threads on cars guys are converting to electric. I have followed quite a few and they almost always build aluminum boxes to protect the batteries and then seal up the top of the box with 1/4 or 3/16 plexiglass sheet. You would then run the wires out gland nuts in the side of the box. I would think that 1/4" alum sheet would strong enough to protect the batteries from the stray stick or branch you may encounter in the woods.

The two bolts that are in it when you get it serve no other purpose than to hold it together during transport. So it doesn't arrive as a sack of scrambled parts. You reuse your existing ring gear and it's 4 bolts.
