Re: Gel Batteries - Can They Be Used..??
[QUOTE=dereckbc;125020] OK, this may help or put you to sleep. I am a telecom engineer who designs a lot of battery plants so batteries are up my alley so to speak. There are basically four types of batteries used for carts and EV’s: Gel, AGM, Flooded Lead Acid (and its cousin Valve Regulated Lead Acid), and Lithium-Ion.
WoW!! Dereck, you truly went "above and beyond" in your post. Thanks-a-lot for taking so much time to explain the differences between the differing battery tyes available to all of us. Your post goes into a much more-detailed explanation. However, for all of the reasons you specified and perhaps a few more, we have come to the same conclusion (at least at the present time). Flooded Lead-Acid appears to be the best and most economically efficient alternative for use in conventional electric golf-carts at this time. Thanks Again! for taking the time to educate all of us. And by the way, your explanation was very concise and also well-written and consequently easy to follow and understand. Best Wishes!! |
