G29 hesitation issue
Hey all,
I was looking at a 2009 g29 today that was not starting, opened the floor access panel and discovered the throttle cable to the gas pedal was severed. replaced the throttle cable. after that it ran and The car was also backfiring but I adjusted the screw on the carburetor to close up the butterfly valve and that stopped it. I am not the best with gasoline cars by far as I mainly deal in electric where I work. My issue now is when I fully depress the pedal the car does not take off as it normally should, there is some hesitation for a few seconds, and it slowly gets up to normal speed from there. My question is what else do I need to adjust to eliminate that hesitation?? fuel pump is ok, carb is new. The car also has good spark. I know of another adjustment that is under the starter generator but not sure if that is the issue?? any help would be nice thanks |

Re: G29 hesitation issue
Adjust at the new throttle cable to find the best setting to meet these 2 goals. 1- throttle arm @ carb doesnt start to move before the engine starts cranking. 2- when pedal is pressed to the floor, throttle arm opens all the way (about 1/8" from throttle arm stopper).

Re: G29 hesitation issue
Thank you all for your advice. It turns out that I was off by a mm on the throttle cable adjustment at pedal and thats why the carb was still acting up...so dang sensitive!! . Oh well, I guess thats how it goes sometimes
