electric car won't go
A9643 club car(not mine) would not go into reverse, drove it to my house, after checking, stuff, now won't go at all..I found 1 cable bad, check bats all good with the gravity, all had voltage. Couldn't get the solenoid to click, replaced it, now it has a very very lite click that you can just feel. When I jump the big posts, it runs right away ! Was checking connections but finding nothing ! Under the pedal is a circuit board, so can't check that ????? My brain hurts now, so tell me a an easy fix, please !......I should add, that if I trun switch off. turn it back on press the pedal, there is a lite jerk at the wheel then nothing.

Re: electric car won't go
I don't know how to tell by the serial number, but that cart could be one of several different drive systems. More info? Photos?

Re: electric car won't go
right off, it has F/R lever with buzzer, 48 volts , this is my first electric car, what else do you need to know

Re: electric car won't g o
threr is a white wire on one of the small posts (on the solenoid), going to the controller (?) , the other small post has a red wire and a white and black wire

Re: electric car won't go
That solenoid needs 48v + and 48v - to close in. You are missing one or the other since it did operate when you jumped across it (unless the solenoid itself has failed or is sticking inside)
Have the cart jack up with one back wheel off the ground. Get your digital volt meter back out Key turned on FNR in Forward Depress Pedal Check the small wires on the solenoid and verify you have both 48v + & -. You probably have a mulit-step potentiometer under your seat (looks like a pie slice) so you can trace back to it if needed and see if you have lost a micro-switch or the wiper arm inside. (See the link below for what is probably your wiring diagram) http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/attac...950348vuv0.jpg |

Re: electric car won't go
I get 50 volts at both small terminals, but then they have that diode thing connecting them both. AND the resistor between the big post gets very HOT!!!!

Re: electric car won't go
From Scotty:
"The solenoid precharge resistor gets very hot when the controller calls for battery power and the solenoid is not closed. When this happens the only path for the controller to draw amperage is through the resistor. This is why the resistor gets smoking hot. Often the problem is just solenoid activation failure which can be as simple as a bad micro switch. Test your solenoid activation circuit before you start replacing major stuff" Disconnect batteries, let resistor cool. Unplug vglide/MCOR from harness, reconnect batteries.. If resistor is not hot after unplugging from harness, your problem is in vglide/MCOR. It is either out of adjustment or microswitch is stuck closed. Keep batteries disconnected until problem is resolved. |

Re: electric car won't go
Though I have one I am not overly familiar with Club Cars but if the cart is working with the solenoid jumped and he is getting Vs to the solenoid then doesn't that mean that the solenoid is bad? That's normally the case with my other carts. I don't want to give bad advice, though, so hopefully someone else will chime in. I am still learning these carts as well.

Re: electric car won't go
Here is a link to a schematic of your cart. http://www.programainc.com/info/G442...atic_G442R.pdf
You will notice that the On Board Computer supplies the ground (-48v or B-) to the small terminal on the solenoid through the yellow (white?) wire. You can bypass that function of the OBC by simply grounding ( connect to B-) that small terminal. This should allow you to engage the solenoid when you step on the pedal.
