Default Re: Voltage regulator HEI conversion

Absolutely. The generator produces more voltage as it spins faster, and faster. It will produce 19, and 20 volts the faster it goes.

The system is only designed to run on 13.5- 14 volts max. The voltage regulator brings the voltage down to a steady useable voltage. It would start cooking the battery, and electronics if it wasn't there.

The ignitor box is in the ignition system.
