Didn't "preload" it, the sliding sheave should be riding on the ramp shoes.

Thanks, I'll add it to the list of things to buy.

Can you expand on the subject. Not sure what is needed.

You need to rotate the the sliding sheave clockwise to get the ramps so that they touch. Also remember there are positions for the spring tangs on both sides of the clutch.

You have to proload it (roughly 1/3 turn) against the spring so when you let go with the nut on, it will press the shoes into the ramps. You turn it over one ramp, then press it on all the way and get the nut on. What holes you put the spring (stock springs) in will set how far you have to rotate over the one ramp, aftermarket springs you don't do this they are much stronger instead. Different holes make it stronger or less pressure on the ramps. More pressure will make it rev more all the time, less will make it only rev when you gas on it but also slower to rev and get going. What is stock think its B-3 or 4 holes, they are marked letter on one side and number on the other part. Stock is pretty good, you might go little more for offroad or lifted or larger tire cart or if you tow stuff.
