Engine turns but won’t start

2002 ezgo gas cart engine turns over but won’t start. It was running fine then 5 minutes later this happened. Changed plugs (got good spark) changed fuel pump, filter and all hoses but still won’t run. Any suggestions

If you are getting fuel to the cylinder, good compression and spark, it has to be at the right time to run. You may try bringing the engine up to TDC and see if it lines up with where it would generate the spark to the #1 cylinder.

Looks like the manual shows how to check to see if the timing belt slipped.

Remove gas tank cap and feel inside tank with your hand to see if the plastic pick tube is still there. They will fall off in tank.

I’ve been exploring possible electrical, I have noticed there is some kind of micro switch on gas pedal and a micro switch on gear selector, could it be one of them? Seems to have good spark at the plugs. Like I said,it was running fine then sat for 5 minutes and then wouldn’t fire up.

The switch at the pedal triggers the solenoid to turn the starter. Switch at the shifter is for the reverse sounder. Unfortunately need to keep looking

By the way, I forgot to say thank you to both of you. Been looking through the manual thanks for that and yes sir I did check the pick up tube—- the fuel filter is clear so I can see the flow...thanks again

Is the throttle plate in carburetor moving when you put the pedal to floor ? See if linkage is moving it

Had the same thing. Although mine was dirt in the carb it had been getting harder to start leading up to the failure. Took the bowl off and unscrewed the brass plug in the center. Put it back and once fuel got to the carb it ran fine, actually better than ever.
