They work if your car has the IQ system by cutting the speed signal in half from the motor to the controller. Because of this, the controller doesn't regulate speed to a pre-programmed maximum RPM. It's new maximum "allowed" RPM is twice what it's programmed for now that the speed signal has been cut in half. Typically a healthy car with a speed magnet will see speeds slightly over what the factory speed "code" (speed setting 4) will allow. Usually around 20-22 MPH.

If your looking for some get up and go you need to get a custom motor. Plum quick using your stock controller or upgraded controller ect, or D&S system.
Revolution carts can hook you up.
I installed a high speed magnet in a ds cart w/ speed code 4 and IQ system that we restored and sold and its nothing like the above mentioned kits. It goes a little faster but it depends on how fast you want. Our personal cart has a d&s kit w alltrax controller and it rocks & rolls. Im no expert like some on here im just giving you my thoughts on my experience.

I put one on my DS IQ cart and it brought it up to 19mph with weak batteries. i have since added an older Altrax and it does 21, and it gets there pretty quickly. Future plans call for an actual speed motor, but for now it's just fine.

Thank you for the info guys. I recently bought an 07 Precedent and am going with the 105AH Roypow. The cart will be used strictly on the golf course, so MAX speed isn't realistically usable. If I can get to 20-22 mph that will be sufficient for now.

I got a magnet from David at revolution above. I get between 20-22 which is plenty fast for me. Much better than the stock 12-14mph

I've got an '09 Precedent. No idea what speed code, but with magnet it goes approx. 19 mph now, plenty for me on golf course. A noticeable increase for sure and really easy installation. Now using 10" wheels, so probably a little more speed now.
