Re: e-z-go 48 volt conversion
Just completed the 36V to 48V upgrade on my TXT series cart. 6-8volts, heavy duty FNR, upgraded solenoid, Alltrax 650 amp controller set to 80%, all cables replaced with 2 gauge and a Delta-Q charger. Using the stock motor with improvments in both torque and speed. GPS showed 20-21 with 23" tires.
Well worth the money |

Re: e-z-go 48 volt conversion
My cart is not lifted, but converted to 48v on the 36v series motor. 20mph on stock diameter lo-pro tires, plenty of torque. This will be my fourth year without problems.
Just do it. |

Re: e-z-go 48 volt conversion
8-6V batteries, and now I have a 48v Lestermatic charger. I used to run 2 chargers, a Powerwise 36v with an automotive 12v smart charger. That worked fine too, but it was a hassle for the wife, so I kept my eyes peeled for a used 48v unit.

22" tires. Solenoid is under the cover, but once you get a bigger controller you cant use the cover. The brakes are a little better. I cleaned them and had to tighten a nut under the brake pedal. The big tires or the mud doesnt help much on the brakes. I have had the 48 volts for over a year.

Re: e-z-go 48 volt conversion
I got a 36 volt Powerwise QE charger when I bought my new EZGO and I could hear the batteries boiling very noticeably when I was charging. I converted to 48 volts and decided to use the DPI charger. I am very happy with it and it seems to be a lot easier on the batteries. You can set the unit for each of the four major battery manufacturers battieries....Trojan, US Bat, etc.
The only downside is weight if that is an issue.....it is Heavy. http://www.dpipower.com/store/index....d&productId=12 |

I bought a DQ 36 volt off of ebay, it said it was the newest one out (although I'm not sure that is correct). It is silver, and is not like the black ones I have seen. Is your black and rectangular, or silver and oddly shaped? |

Re: e-z-go 48 volt conversion
Mine is black rectangular.....standard issue with my new cart.
I do not know if it is bad for the batteries to boil but I do know that their is a big difference in the two chargers. |
