1994 EZGo 4 stroke cutting out
I have 1994 Ezgo 4 stroke that appears to cut out when you get above idle speed. It will drive slow fine but as you try to speed up it starts missing and won't accelerate. I'm 99% it's an ignition problem. The carb is perfect, valves set correct, timing is right. The ignition coil and pulsar coil have been replaced. I'm leaning towards and igniter, but wanting some opinions before spending the money. It seems almost like the rev limiter is kicking in at just above idle. As I said it starts and runs perfect a low speed, could anything else be causing this (and it is not fuel related). The ignitor and and coil are getting solid + 12v while it is acting up. If I hook up to both + and - leads with a VOM to the coil.....the voltage stays somewhat steady when driving at idle, but seems to fall and quickly recover when it starts missing. Could the gap of the pulsar coil cause something like this? I haven't pull the cover back off to check that yet, but I figured that if it starts and runs well at low speed...then that would have to be set correctly. Also does anyone know the cheapest place to find an ignitor for this cart?
