Default splitting the crankcase (2 stroker)

do i have to take the crank case apart to replace the seals.i was told i had to, to get them to seat properly.

In a word, no. You may find it easier if you remove the engine but all you need to do is remove the drive clutch at the rear and the flywheel / fan from the front. Just to give myself a little comfort factor I used a smear of loctite on my seals but I expect someone will say that's not neccessary and they will probably be right.

I second that.Swap out the seals externally,but the sealer isn't gona hurt.just make sure its a steel outer ring on the seals.Never use sealer on rubber seals.

thanks for nthe info guys, was told i'd have to get special "stick 'em" for the case to put it back together, wasnt really wanting to split it for that reason (and heard it was a b!t@h to get it back together). thanks again.....shag
