Question to those who golf & don't live on a course.
Do you take your personal cart to the course? Does the course mind you doing that? And last, do you just pay to walk?

Courses & Clubs have & strict rules about private carts. Often times it is the pro shop that profits from the cart rentals..... so I'm sure they could tell you.

Re: Question to those who golf & don't live on a course.
Taking it a step further.
Some clubs/courses completely outlaw private carts and you must rent from the club/course. Some clubs/courses welcome private carts but you must pay a "trail fee" to use a private cart. Fees could be per round or you might pay an annual fee. Some clubs/courses allow private carts but you must pay a fee close to if not the same as renting their cart and the course has discretion of allowing/disallowing private carts on a case by case basis. I've seen all of the above scenarios. Bottom line is cart rentals are a revenue stream for all of them so this revenue stream will be guarded in one way or another at the discretion of the club/course. As scottyb indicated, check with the course/pro shop. To have any chance, your cart must have turf tires for sure and if it is lifted expect to be denied regardless of tire tread or at best confined to cart path only if they allow. Developing a good relationship with the Head PGA Pro, Head Groundskeeper, or G.M. of the course/club definitely won't hurt your chances but a lot of it is simply course/club policy and they will not deviate. |
