Default final wheel RPM

Looking for the RPM of an 18 inch wheel at top speed of a normal stock cart. Converted my carts rear end to a hydraulic drive axel and need to build the pulley system.

Tks,

Jeff

Hello Chopper,

Lets see if I can wrap my head around this.

18" tire has a circumference of 56.5''

a mile is 5,280 feet and converted to inches for simplicity is 63,360"

so 63,360 / 56.5 = 1121.4 revolutions of one tire to go one mile.

1121.4 multiplied by average speed of stock is 11 mph = 12,335.4 and that divided by 60 minutes is 205.6 rpm?

Sounds reasonable to me. I'm sure some one will correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm not sure i understand you. Hydraulics, pulleys, and top speed got me wonderin'.

Are you planning on driving the cart, or letting the cart drive something external, such as a saw mill??

RPMs are RPMs, and are independent of wheel diameter if you are driving an external load. The load will determine the max rpm. Otherwise, the above post probably got you covered.

Sounds like he wants to know the RPH of the rear axle of a stock set-up, so he can match hydro rear RPM's and keep the same speed. He is saying he may have to build in a over or under drive with some pulleys.

I think, thats how I understand it. So wheel size will not play a part, just RPM's at final drive.

I pulled the original rear end out and replaced it with a 1 inch splined shaft on the 18 inch wheels. The hydraulic motor spins 303 RPM cont. and has 2330 inch pounds of torque. The plan is for two 1-1 pulleys. The hyd motor is mounted on a slide plate where the batteries were in the center of the cart. That pulley has about 6 inches back to the shaft pulley. If i'm not happy with that i'm going to up the motor pulley one or two sizes.
If the rear wheel spins at around 300 for 11mph then I believe i'm heading in the right direction??

This might help...

Might need more math but its a start.
Good luck with the project

What feeds the hydraulic motor? Gas or electric?
