TXT Loses Power Intermittently
Hi, I have a 2005 TXT series with standard controller upgraded cables and 4" lift kit. I put new batteries in a few months ago and everything was working fine until last week. I took it out and it acted like the batteries were very low - slow speed and very slow going up hill. I checked the batteries and they are all showing good (>6.5 volts) and total voltage of 39.5V. I took it out again and it was still slow, but after about 4 minutes it acted like it switched from low gear to high and was back to normal. Kept driving and it would switch back to "low power" mode for a short period then back to normal. It has now switched back to low power mode. I checked all of the connections on the controller, FNR switch, battery terminals and motor and they are all tight. Any ideas what might be causing the problems? Thanks.

Re: TXT Loses Power Intermittently
I ran it for several minutes when it was running "low power" and checked for heating of any of the cables/components and could not find anything. Does any one have any ideas?

Re: TXT Loses Power Intermittently
If the pack voltage isn't dropping to abnormally low levels and none of the cables or components are getting hot, my guess is that the controller isn't passing all the amps it ought to.
Could be the ITS isn't telling the controller to turn on fully, or the controller isn't doing what it is being told to do. A wet ITS sensor will cause a cart to act like yours is, so will a corroded in-line 4-pin connector between ITS box and controller. |
