Never owned a Golf cart but I'm going to buy one to ride around campgrounds and my house.
I want one I can tinker with to make it faster .
Do I need to start with a 48 volt or get a 36 and make it 48 volt.

Thanks
Im sure I will have a lot of questions later on !!!

It all depends on which model you want to start with....OR if you buy one that needs batteries, fore if you are going to be buying a new set of batteries, and upgrading the drive system at the same time, it truly makes no difference whether you buy a 36v or 48v as you will be replacing it all and can buy the components for either.

What you need to do first is to determine how you are truly going to use your cart (strictly on road, off road, or a combination), the type of terrine you are in (flat, hilly, a combination of the two).....those things will tailor the equipment you will need for your upgrade so that you can buy it ONCE and not end up having to replace things if/when you find out that your cart won't do the job you want it to.

oh and BTW......Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to BGW. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, dad's, wives', husband's, girlfriend's and boyfriend's here don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!
