Do you hear the solenoid click when you try to go?

An intermittent loss of an electrical connection in any of the wires and switches highlighted in RED on the attached schematic, will cause a PDS controller to apply max regen braking until the cart stops moving, or close to it. While the cart is being stopped rapidly, the beeper is also beeping rapidly.

This "emergency stop" feature can be triggered by switching the F/R switch to Neutral while moving, or by turning keyswitch off while moving.

Try setting it off by one of the ways mentioned and if that is what it is doing, go looking for a bad wire or loose connection.

Yes the solenoid clicks and it goes.It may run some and then it goes into full regan braking.

If the solenoid is dropping out could this cause full motor braking?

Yes but it's easy to think you have a bad solenoid when you have a solenoid activation circuit problem.
Can you verify the solenoid is not closed when the cart won't run?
Can you verify the solenoid activation circuit is not complete when the cart won't run?

I really don't know how to do all that but let me ask you is there a wire I can cut to disable the motor braking? Also can rule out the controller being faulty?

Your PDS controller is a essentially "Fly-by-Wire" system. Solenoid activation, cart direction and regen barking are controlled by a microprocessor located inside the controller.

To get the motor to move the cart, certain conditions have to be met.
The following is a Truth Table of those conditions:
Run/Tow switch contacts closed = True
Reed switch contacts closed = True
Key switch contacts closed = True
F/R switch Either F Or R contacts closed = True
Pedal switch contacts closed = True

At this point, the solenoid contacts are closed and the controller will pass amps to the motor IF there is a signal from the throttle telling it to do so.

IF one of the first four conditions changes state while the cart is moving, the microprocessor that controls the controller autonomously executes an emergency stop subroutine, which causes maximum regenerative braking to occur, accompanied by rapid beeping of the beeper.

If your beeper works and it is not beeping rapidly when cart slows down, it probably isn't in the emergency stop mode.

Are you actually getting regen braking when cart misbehaves, or is it just slowing down?
