I have a 48 volt cart that after a full charge all batteries have 8plus volts. The charger remains at 5 amps and will not shutoff. Charger and batteries get hot can

Re: Club car 48 volt
8 V each times six equals 48 V. The charger needs to see somewhere between 56 and 63 V to hit the cut off mark. Sounds like you may have bad batteries

Re: Club car 48 volt
Define 8 "plus." Like 8.1 or 8.4? It makes a huge difference. 8.1 is 48.6 and 8.4 is 50.4 That is the difference in having crap batteries and having a good pack.

Re: Club car 48 volt
After reading both threads, I'm guessing the charger is busting it's hump trying to bring an unbalanced battery pack to the shut off point.
