Question about DS I ordered.
I ordered a custom 2005 48V DS. I had it painted, lifted with 14" wheels and off-road (ish) yours. When I took it for a ride, it felt soooo slow, off the line. Now I'm about to tell them I am no longer interested since the salesman told me he would move it up to speed level 3. It has a decent top speed at about 20mph, but it takes forever to get there.
My question is can I get the kind of acceleration that an RXV has, or am I wasting my time? This thing is costing me over $6k, so I'm not happy that I'll have to put more into it to make it quick, but I really love the look of the DS. |

Horsepower, bigger motor, bigger controller, bigger cables. Will get you off the line better. Depends on how much you want to spend.

Let be some real help. What drive system is it? IQ with a rocker switch directional switch just below the center of the seat?
If yes this cart can be upgraded to an XCT400IQ control and the results will be impressive. Neck snapping torque and 22 mph sound like what you want? |

Oh yea, and to add to my previous post; $6000 is nuts for a 2005. I'll sell you a 2012 Precedent with all that for $6000.

Re: Question about DS I ordered.
Ok, thanks for all the info. As far as the price, that seems to be the going rate for what I want down here. I wanted the base DS with custom color body paint, 14" wheels and tires, Jake's lift kit, new Trojan batteries, rear seat, rear seatbelts, extended roof, lights. I think that's it. I just do not like the look of the Precedent or the RXV.
That was why I went this route in the first place. How about the base motor upgrade from Plum Quick? Only $225 and says you'll get 25% more power and torque. Any truth to that and is it plug and play, or do I then have to change a bunch of other things I the process to get those gains? |

Re: Question about DS I ordered.
The plumb quick motor will really help. Also you need at least 4 ga cables to replace all the 6 ga cables. You can make them your self if you are handy with working on things. Go to your local welding shop for welding cable. The controller will make the biggest noticeable difference. I had all the others, then went with a plug and play 350 amp Curtis controller, wow what a difference. Lots of the people go with at least 500 amp controllers.
