Default 95 Medalist NoGo

I'm hoping this sounds familiar to someone.

Very new to carts and stumped with this.
We've got a 95 Medalist, 36v. It does ok, but will be getting lots of upgrades soon.
The problem now is that it runs around fine, but a couple of times in the last 3 weeks when you shut it off it doesn't want to go again. The first time when I got home I turned the key on and it took right off. Not this time.

As I type this I have it on the charger so that I can test voltage later.
One more weird thing, it will sound the back up alarm with the key off and the FNR in reverse.

Any ideas?

A little additional info.
With the key on I do not get a click from the solenoid when I depress the accelerator pedal. I do however get a click from the FNR when I move it.

Still charging the batteries. And drinking beer.

I can address the F/R buzzer. Mine (series cart) goes off whenever the F/R switch is put in R regardless of key switch or anything else. I believe this is normal and works the same on a PDS cart. Don't know about a DCS cart but don't think it would be different.

Thank you kernal.
I couldn't remember it doing that before so I was wondering if it could be connected.

As you saw from my other post I am going to replace most of the major components to the system, but with my luck it'll be some little wire going to the ITS or something.

Ain't that the truth. Well, they are twenty years old. Probably getting tired.

20 years used to seem old, until I flew past 40.

I heard that!

One day not long ago I was going up a hill in the cart when I got passed by 3 high school aged females in a 48v Yamaha. The girl on the back seat gave me a little smile. Ordinarily, I would be thrilled that she even noticed I existed but this was a smile of sympathy. Like you get from a nurse in the hospital. (poor old man can't get up the hill") That was the day I decided to convert to 48v. Best thing I ever did! Do it and don't look back.

With the key ON and the F/R in either F or R, the solenoid should click when the pedal is pushed.

If not, the problem is in one of the four switches that have to be closed to energize the solenoid, or the wires that connect them in series.

Solenoid activation circuit is highlighted in red on attached schematic.

kernal I feel your pain. I don't have to be the fastest, just faster than the guy in front of me. And for teenagers to run off and leave me would be an insult to all of my ancestors that must be avenged.

Thank you for the schematic JohnnieB. I got up this morning and was starting to put it to use, when it became painfully obvious what the problem was. Well, at least the symptom of the problem. Now to figure out what caused it and I think I've got a pretty good idea.

I think it boils down to too much asked of too little.
I'll try to attach a picture, but know this, it died honorably carting around way too many teenage girls with my son.

Alright, I've got all kinds of goodies ordered.
This will be a great father/son project that I'm sure will result in much cursing, drinking, skinned knuckles and possibly grounding the boy.

I'll update you guys on the results.

Parts I ordered- Admiral MOT-B1- Alltrax SPM 48500 EZ- Big Honking solenoid- Faster, Stronger, Better than before FNR switch- 2 gauge wire for everything.
