Default Trojan battery post melted (2nd time)

Connections were all secure and neg to pos was all properly done.

Are my battery cables the issue? I have been meaning to get a set from scottyb but haven't done so. My cables have been hot to the touch after riding.

Thanks

It sure sounds like it's the cables. Just because the cable lug is tight at the battery, the connection between the lug and the cable could be corroded causing the problem. Cables or connections should not be hot.

No corrosion but hot to the touch in a hilly neighborhood with 22 inch tires.

Just ordered the new cables from Scottyb's site. Wish I hadn't waited but....

Going to the 7 6-volt setup and new charger. Already have the Alltrac XCT controller. Anything else I need to do to convert to 42 volts?

No two different batteries. I've called local Trojan battery guys but they don't believe the post is fixable.

Bad connection at the cable ends or bad connection to the battery itself is the cause of this failure. (The only cause) If it looks good at the end where it failed, replace the cables for sure or you will have the same problem again. Do a quick run and check for hot spots. If you can't keep your hand on the connections, there is a problem!

Got the new cable set in today from Scottyb. Great quality and easy install. Look forward to seeing the performance difference. Took a spin around the neighborhood and all cables weren't hot at all. Checked the cables in to the motor and they were fine. Motor was hot but assume that's normal.

But as always with me.....I have another issue come up. Light bar was working fine before I changed the cables. Now it comes on but barely lights up. I checked the connections and see no difference. Any ideas?
