Slightly different LED light bar install
I decided to put a LED light bar on rather than the standard headlights, but rather than bolting it out in the open I tried to incorporate it into the front plastic. I had to re-enforce the brackets that hold the front plastic and make my own mounting for the LED light bar, but I'm very happy with the results.
While I was at it, I built a fascia plate to hold the switch & volt meter. Simple aluminium frame covered in leather. Rather than bolting DC/DC converter, Fuse fox & relay to driver side rear wheel arch, I made a simple aluminium plate & bracket to hold everything, similar to the one that holds the controller. I used a fuse box with built in earth buss to make life easier. Still need to do the rear lights, I'll post those up when finished. Re: Slightly different LED light bar install
Thanks. I wanted to put the light switch next to the key switch and the volt meter under both as there is enough room (from the outside). But when I removed the dash there is a large metal plate molded into the plastic holding the key switch and I didn't want to cut through that plate. So that's why I ended up making that fascia plate.

Re: Slightly different LED light bar install
Did the rear lights. I used 2 motorcycle LED license plate lights, that have built in running / brake / turn signal.
I also have a 3rd one that will mount to the foot rest of the rear seat once I put that on. These are what I used https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01GJGCR9U Still need to make the brake light switch, but that'll be another day. |
