Default My Club Car Precedent squeals

I have a 2006 Club Car Precedent with the 4 - 12 volt battery configuration. My problem is when its cold outside my cart squeals when going full speed. If I slow down it stops, if I hit a bump it will stop for a second but then comes back. It almost sounds like a belt but from what I can see there is no belt in the drive train just gears, so I am thinking it is possibly a bearing. During the summer (hot weather) everything is fine. I have changed the rear end fluid thinking that was it but no change.

Any help or advice on where to start looking would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Eric

If you think it's coming from the transaxle have you noticed any leaks in that area or notice if it's hot to the touch after a long ride? May need to drain and refill the gear oil.

Since it does it when it is cold and sometimes quits when hitting a bump, I would be prone to believe it was a rubber joint, seal, or bushing. Try getting some high quality lubricating spray (more than WD-40) and spray the spring hangers, bushings, grommets, etc. and see if that helps.

It's the brushes in the motor. I'm guessing it's a GE motor as they are more prone to this issue than the AMD/ADC versions. When the brushes get worn, they get shorter and they lose tension, when they lose tension, they sing.
