2008 or 2008.5 ???

If I am looking at your pics correctly it is either a manufacturer error in not pre-cutting the slot for the column or they expect you, the end user, to do it as a custom fit install. But from your pics it will slide into place if you take a hole saw and cut it or a jigsaw and slot it to fit.

The 2008 and earlier Precedents had a Style A dashboard and the 2008.5+ have the new Style B dashboard.

The dash you bought is not designed for the new under-dash mount you have.

I mentioned the dashes were different in my previous post but I did not elaborate since I didn't know you were getting a new dash.

NoleFan4Ever and Sergio had already established that you have a 2008.5 so it stands to reason that you would need the one for 2008.5+

When they say 2008.5+ they mean it is for 2008.5 and any cars produced after that.

I hope you get the right one OK.

These guys are right. It doesn't have anything to do with the column. It's the dash compartment itself that is different, mainly the hump over the column.

The dash you have would work on my 2005 precedent. When I ordered mine the first one they sent would have worked on your cart.

When I got the correct one it took all of about ten minutes to install. No cutting of anything. Just set in place.

Thanks for all the input guys...You all did try to make this clear in the earlier post but I now see were I went wrong. I need to pay more attention to the 2008 and 2008.5 + when ordering things. Got the right dash coming now.Thank for bearing with me as it was my mistake.
