Default Club DS body changes

Guys, I've searched for the answer here and couldn't find it. I'd like to get another Club Car DS body for my '91. I want to find one that I can work on and eventually paint (without having to have my cart down). I see bodies out there that have a rectangular hole behind the seat. Whats this hole for and would those bodies work on my '91 ? Thanks for the help.

The hole is to help you get at the motor better. I am pretty sure the body itself should be about the same and have the same connection points to the frame.

If you already have a plastic body this is a straight swap. If you are changing from a fiberglass body to plastic then you will need a half inch spacer between the frame and the two top cowl bolts. That's it

Is there a cover for this hole and would this/my '91 be fiberglass ?

The access cover is readily available from any sponsor. I think they changed to plastic in 1990? But somebody correct me if needed.
You can always go check yours and see if it is hard fiberglass or softer plastic, the plastic bends much easier... consequently special paints with high flexibility must be used.... see the BGW paint section for more info
