1988 ds performance upgrade
I have a 1988 36 volt, I am interested in improving performance. I do not want a speedster but would like some more torque and a couple miles per hour. I have 22/11/8 tires. A local cart repair company claimed they could rewind my current motor for more power for about $350.00 bucks and use my current electronics. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Re: 1988 ds performance upgrade
if its a resistor cart your very limited to upgrades you might want to consider converting to a controller cart which isn,t going to be cheap...........................

Re: 1988 ds performance upgrade
The motor rewind is probably going to be the biggest bang for your buck but ..... you may have some heat issues with the extra amperage that is going to draw. You will need to upgrade cables, possibly solenoid.
A complete controller conversion would be a better way to go. |
