Question Re: 1979 club car

I just bought a 79 Club Car for $275. The guy that I bought it from thought it was a mid 80's model. I didn't know the diff. It does run, but it will not take a good charge. About an hour of charge to get about 10 minutes of run time. Other than that, it seems to run ok. I am going to re-juvinate the batteries and see if it really works. It has a frame for the canopy, but the canopy is gone. Looks like it may have been made of wood?? I would like to put the canopy back on, but I am not sure what to use. Any suggestions?

ummm start out by FULLY charging the cart... 1 hour of charge is nowhere near enough time.... you need to plug it in and let the charger run it's full course. This could be as little as 6-8 hours or as much as 16 hours......
