Old EZGO resistor problems
Hi Group I'm new to the forum and learning about golf cart repair. I am working on an old EZGO model D1388. I don,t know the code to determine the year. I replaced the small resistor coil and now it jumps ahead in the first pedal position but does not increase speed much even at full pedal. I could use some suggestions. Thanks

Re: Old EZGO resistor problems
It looks like you may have a 1988 model Marathon. Can you post a pic of the resistor you replaced on the cart ?

Re: Old EZGO resistor problems
I did not replace the resistor, I bent the broken/burned off end and reattached it. It was the first one in line and the smaller coil. I also cleaned up all other coil terminations and replaced a bad motor cable.

Re: Old EZGO resistor problems
When you shorten a resistor coil you change it's value / performance. You should replace it with a new coil.
