Lithium spec questions

Ok Ready to convert to lithium on 2014 RXV Research suggest a single 48v pack is best, multiple 48 v packs in parrallel 2nd and 12volt packs in series last.

you can find 100A-H battery, charger bundles from say $1400 to upwards of $3K. Some have up to 12yr warrenty but if you dig in alot of the term is protated and you must ship your batteries back to supplier.

Questions:

IS the BMS rating the same as its continious discharge current rating? (seems like getting and underated BMS is source of prolbems)

An estimate of peak current draw for my cart? and an estimate at full speed? My cart has 21in dia wheels runs about 22 mph.

Some blogs suggest cheap packs may use grade B cells but what vendor would advertize that? Or do you basically get what you pay for?

For a cart like yours, I would not go below 200 AMPS continuous, 300 AMPS for 15sec!!!
Especially with 21 inch tires and 22 mph. It's the BMS that does the limiting. If you exceed the specs, the BMS shuts the battery down and you go through the windshield! The RXV mechanical parking brake will engage immediately if the battery shuts down. I've seen it happen more than once.

thanks Having the BMS shut down and then engaging the electric brake is a big concern of mine. If I shop for BMS 200 amp minimum I think I will still find a wide range of pricing for similar A-H packs. Any thoughts on getting what you pay for? OR maybe asked a different way Do we think Lithium golf cart prices are still coming down ???

The more the better but, my 120ah cells ( 120a continuous / 240a max. / 60 sec. ) are working fine and I've had not any shut down. The BMS is a 200/300a . I'm running 20.5 inch tires and a Navitas 440 controller. While driving, drawn amps were below 100a most of the time. When fast accelerating, you'll see 200+a for a second or two, at constant 30mph, 70 - 90 amps.
A 200a continuous battery is a bit of overkill in my opinion, even the ECO battery won't provide this.

Simple solution, remove the windshield and drink redbull . . .

Im looking into the same thing (23 inch wheels, lifted cart), the battery price has been dropping all over. I spotted this deal tonight . . .

I figure mount the charger in the cart, build a 120vmale to ezgo plug to 120vmale and wire the plug to the charger in the cart. Then its just a matter of plugging an extension cord into the cart.
