Default Best way to remove old paint

I've recently purchased a Yamaha g1 golf cart and it has a lot of old paint on it and I was wondering what you guys have found as the best way to remove the old paint and to repaint, thanks

I removed the paint from my old G1. A palm-sander with 60 grit worked good to remove most of it. Then 150 grit to really clean it up. Just don't get carried away with the 60 grit. Took about 4 hours total.

best way to take old paint off is to use 180 grit on a DA sander and then come back over that with 320 grit and then clean it up really good and u can primer it the block sand the primer then blow off the dust and paint it . and if that is too much u can always bring me the body and I pimp it out for u . check my photo out

I hate painting (and i have access to a cart-sized booth).......... "look at those fisheyes...and that grain of dust...here comes the 'cut & buff' and ect ect". i would rather gettin' greasy with wrenches. Im no painter, do like they said. Get a DA sander, then a block to make it nice & smooth (ok, so i skiped about 5 "clean, primer, sand & repeat" steps for a good paint job).

Be sure to use a good wax & grease remover prior to priming and painting!

And when final-sanding your primer use a can of black spray paint to dust over the primer as a guide-coat. It will show all low spots and sand scratches that may need filled.
