G2, G9, G16, G22 are the one's you want to look for. These range from 1994 to the mid 2000's I believe, give or take a few years. Just do a search on Yamaha golf cart, you'll see whats avail.

No special cradle needed for the G16 or 22. The Vanguard will mount to the swingarm like OEM. 2 of the original engine mount holes need to be enlarged a little, and you have to fab spacer blocks to raise/level the engine a bit.

No such thing LOL. It might be easier than one cart or another, but doing this engine swap is no easy task. The guys that have done several of them will say it's easy, due to experience. The biggest thing is lining everything up and getting the belt tension and alignment correct. Some struggle with this. The geometry of mounting is critical for good oil flow. If you have enough clearance under the "hood", then you can use the swingarm as is and not need to level it. But if you lift the cart, the swingarm tilts toward the rear, making the engine sit at an angle. This will affect the carb float and also the oil level/pickup point. Add a long steep hill climb and this oil level becomes dangerous. Some will compensate by lifting the rear of the engine up, but that makes for less room in the engine compartment, and the engine usually won't have enough clearance. The Vtwins are very tall compared to the original single cylinder engine or the clone engines. This is why fabricating an engine cradle is the "right" way to do this, because it drops the front of the engine down giving more clearance and leveling out the engine. Much better for the engine to have is sitting level or close to it, since this is the way they were engineered. So making this cradle properly is not easy.

that sounds easy enough if your a certified welder . im definitely not new to fabricating and somewhere on my favorites is a list of measurements from comet clutches. That being said im sure for this swap to be done right it will take some time. im sure I will have lots of questions, at least im in the right place for answers

You can add the g14 in between the g9 and g16.Sort of a g2-9 frame with a g16 body.
