Default 83 2 stroke battery keeps dying

I can run my cart a few days then all of a sudden the battery will be dead. I know the starter/ alternator is working because I have push started it. Does anyone know what else it could be?

Have you checked the voltage to the battery with the engine running? Have you checked the battery water level?

Im wondering if its the voltage regulator because when I was hooking the wires to the starter I had the little green wire that runs from the regulator hooked to the wrong connect on the starter. Could hooking that wire up wrong break the regulator?

While running, measure the voltage at the battery. It should read 13.5-14 volts.

If you are reading 12 volts or less, do the next step.

Take the small green wire from the regulator end, and ground it out while running the cart. At the same time measure the voltage at the battery.

It should vary with speed all the way up to 19 volts.

You just checked the voltage regulator, and the generator.

I sanded both sets of points in mine, cleaned all the corrosion, and got it working again.
