Re: G9 battery keeps going completely dead HELP
No it's not "normal". I can leave my carts, or the rental shop's carts for months (over the winter for instance) and they will start up on their own. Should be NO draw with cart & accessories off.

Re: G9 battery keeps going completely dead HELP
Brushes were just replace 2 weeks ago and starter/ generator was cleaned well. By the way, the cable that comes from the solenoid to the starter in not even connected right now to the starter and I still had that reading I posted.

Re: G9 battery keeps going completely dead HELP
So if I understand correctly, the solenoid is still connected, and the s/g is totally disconnected and you are still getting a drop in voltage I would disconnect the solenoid and check voltage again.another thought is whenever you found the battery drained what was done to the cart prior to that? Do you have another battery to use for testing purposes? The draw you have seems excessive to me, need to find out when it happened,is it possible that the s/g wires are not hooked up properly? Keep us posted.

Re: G9 battery keeps going completely dead HELP
I ordered another solenoid so I can see if I am still getting the voltage bleed through with a new one. Only thing done to the cart prior to changing the brushes in the s/g was a new igniter was put on the cart.

Re: G9 battery keeps going completely dead HELP
OK, I put a new solenoid on and the draw has stopped. I drove the cart some last night and it was charging well. I parked it and let the battery settle down. I checked voltage before I left it and it was at 12.42 this morning it is at 12.02 crazy stuff

Re: G9 battery keeps going completely dead HELP
Even 12.42 isn't full charge, should be at least 12.6 volts. When you say it was charging well did you check the voltage while running? Should be running something over 14 volts when it's running. It sounds like either it's not fully charging or (most likely) a battery issue. It's entirely possible the repeated draw down to dead has damaged that battery.

Re: G9 battery keeps going completely dead HELP
on my old g9 I had to disconnect the reverse buzzer... it rarely worked but if left in reverse it would still draw and kill the battery even with key off and not make any sound...
its always something on these carts..... glad the guys here were able to help you narrow it down... |
