G16 only seems to start when in specific position
G16 been running fine, then yesterday after an hour after running, pressing pedal only gave me click at solenoid. Fuse OK.
Charged battery. Nothing. But after pushing cart physically a few feet, something happened and started right up. Same thing happened earlier today. Have never seen this happen, but cant figure it out? Am in remote location...any advice greatly appreciated. Thanks. |

Sounds like bad brushes in the starter to me, had that happen on a couple of carts.

Re: G16 only seems to start when in specific position
Thanks for the suggestion. Being a newbie, is there a way to test for this problem?
Thanks again. |

Re: G16 only seems to start when in specific position
Still trying to figure this one out.
Sorry for the delay but am on an island with spotty electric and internet. Had someone bring me brushes and replaced them, but still having problem In order to get it running when it stops, yanking the wide belt..??..clutch belt..??, seems to get it going. Any other ideas or things to check would be much appreciated...thanks. |

Re: G16 only seems to start when in specific position
My starter solenoid went out and if I stomped on the floor in front of it the cart would start, mine is right behind the passengers foot. Wiring connection issue can also cause this kind of thing, check connections/connectors and battery posts etc. Wiring problems can be very common on older yamaha, a pain but cheap and easy to fix at least.
