Thanks Dave. Jakes 6" A arm lift kit is on order, next is picking out the tire/rims. Not sure if I'd like a 10" or 12" rim. Jakes website states the G8 with the 6" lift will handle up to 23X10.5X12 but i'm concerned they will look too jammed in there. Will be doing a more aggressive all terrain tire as well. Any recommendations?

Smaller rims gives you more side wall and a softer ride. I wouldn't go over a 22" tire also. The jakes 6" lift is great, and if you want some serious power you can always get yourself a bigger engine and swap it out. Whether it be a clone or a V-twin Biggs, that's up to you to decide!

Had the kids driving it all over kingdom come last night for a couple hours. Lifted up the seat just to show them where the engine was and man does it get hot in there. The metal bracket on the bottom back on the seat was scorching, is this normal to get that much heat out of the engine compartment? Being a one week cart owner I just don't know what is normal and what is not. Rookie jitters I guess.

If you can, remove the cooling shrouds from the engine and clean around the cylinder head. You'd be surprised how much crap can accumulate in the fins...Check the air intake at the flywheel, too.

Another area is either the exhaust manifold gasket or muffler leak. Either one will cause great heat under the seat.

Some carts also had shields on the bottom, here G2 had them most G9 do not. They close the bottom of the cart in and make them run much warmer. My G9 is all open under the frame and cradle. They were likely for noise reduction.

With 18 tires you might get up to 20 with no governor but most do not recommend not using it with 18 tires as it can rev higher with small tires. With the governor all the way in it should be close to that anyway maybe 18 or something, but every cart is different. With 22s I saw 27gps on a G9 with governor all in, 30-31 gps down a flat road with no governor. But that was WOT I would not recommend you run it that way very far. I would only go 100yrd or something, and I never floored it down a hill to go faster. Was likely floating the valves. But ran it many years that way.

Well it was an early Christmas on my porch when I got home yesterday from work. Jake's 6" lift and the new tires/rims arrived. Got the front half of the lift installed last night, everything went together pretty smoothly. Here's the pic of the cart when I first bought it, bone stock, and a few of it with the front lift installed. Not sure why the pics are loading sideways.....

Looks great and the body in the cart is in great shape. Be careful with it, those fiberglass bodies don't like to come in contact with things!

Spray some Clorox bleach on the seats and you will see the black fungus on them go away. Works great.

Yup, I use half bleach and half water, spray it and let it dry in the sun. Washes everything off and is white as can be. Tilex mold also works great on vinyl, used it in boats a lot.
