Default Carryall larger tires, how big?

Hi we just bought a 2006 Carryall 272 and its tires are getting old. Rather than go with stock size, I'd like a taller A/T tire that absorbs rough terrain better.

It looks like I could fit 2" more diameter easily, but I'd like to hear from you guys about what works. I'd like to stick with the stock wheels.

A mild lift kit is in the future, once I get all the mechanics fully up to snuff.

I found this earlier post but it's 4 years old. I'm new on this forum and don't want to say 'hi' by necroposting ...

The OP's cart looks low. Way lower than my 272. I bet I could fit 22s with no problem, no lift.

I have 23 - 10.5 - 12s on there now.

I wonder if that is the stock size? Looks like I still have 2 in more room in the wheel wells

Sometimes wheels look like they'll fit fine but the problem usually shows up in the front when you go to make a turn and the tires smoosh up against the kick panel area or the lower front frame area.

If you have 23s now, then your should have no problem running 22s (?)

Am I missing something here?

LOL, yeah I should go back and edit that earlier post, before I knew the tire size I had. The cart is out at our ranch property, where we don't live ... yet. I was surprised this morning to discover 23s on there.

WTH? There's no edit button.

The edit button is only available for a little while after you post. After several hours it goes away.

Carryalls are graced with a tighter turning radius than a DS or a Precedent.
Changing tire/wheel diameter and/or width, and, installing lift(s) can seriously compromise that advantage.

Thanks. Ironically, we got a good deal on it because its turning radius and girth were too big for the marina docks the PO bought it to use on. He wanted a smaller cart.

EPILOGUE: Just realized that I never posted info on how the larger tires fit.

I ordered 25s but the tire shop got 26s. They fit! Just barely, but no rubbing even when loaded with 1000lbs of gravel etc. The only time I get rubbing is when boatloads of nasty sticky mud builds up on the tires. I hear it starting to rub on the frame rails. But a blast of that blinding 18mph top speed flings it off. Or I drive thru a big puddle.

So if you have a Carryall 272 with no lift, you can run 26s on the back. But I would not try that on the front. You'd lose turning radius like a big dog.

Top speed went up from 16mph to 18mph with no governor mods, just the larger diameter tires. Our hair blows back like Trump now.
