Default GM HEI for 4 stroke Robin EH29

I have read several threads and even was able to find diagrams of the GM HEI conversion for the 2 stroke ezgo carts. I also read thread indicating that the same has been done for the 4 stroke but I have not found diagram or information describing the swap and any conclusive information that indicates that it works or not. Could someone help a newbie at the golf cart world? I have a 2003 ezgo txt 295 robin engine if that helps. Non MCI engine I think.

Sorry man. There is no diagram. The ONLY one that has said they have done it is pizzamaker. You might try PM'ing him. I have seen MSD ignitions used on them but it's not a "simple" conversion. We would all love to be able to do the GM HEI swap.

I build the MSD kits but you are incorrect that it isn't a simple conversion. Very easy to install. Just not very cheap. I am currently working on a different, cheaper setup. Just don't have much time to devote to it right now. I will keep everyone informed when I have something.

When I stated simple I was reffering to not as simple as the GM HEI wiring. I knew the MSD was expensive. Either way its an easy deal. If you can wire in lights you can wire in an ignition.

Hi Fred, just wondering how much is "not very cheap" for the MSD kit?

No "rebuild kit". I've never had anyone wear one out. I could rebuild it for you if you sent it to me. Some of the pieces are select fit items and without several different sizes on hand it would be almost impossible for you to do yourself.

I remember doing that install. What ever became of that other guy that was there when I did that, the big talker/business associate?
