Fe290 gas in oil
I have a 2002 cc with fe290. I put a 7.5" lift on it and then realised that gas was getting into my oil and then leaking out and dripping to the ground. I was told that most likely it was due to the engine being tilted up too much from the lift i put on it causing the float to stick open on the carb. So to fix it we made a bracket that bolted under the frame and around the snubber to tilt the motor back down keep the float in the carb from sticking and leaking gas by. We also drained a d changed the oil. I noticed today the there was a small amount of gas/oil dripping from under the motor. I checked the oil and it has gas in it again. Any ideas on what is causing this?

Old dirtbike trick. When not in use turn the fuel petcock off if installed. If not, install a petcock.

Re: Fe290 gas in oil
Okay, what do you mean the fuel pump is the problem? It's dirty or broken somehow? I should just replace it?
And i will definitely try the pitcock idea |

Re: Fe290 gas in oil
After cutting the petcock off, we always let it run for a little while to keep the bowl from being full, thereby removing the chance of fuel getting into the cylinder.

Re: Fe290 gas in oil
Okay so if i decide to put the valve on the line then that will help prevent gas from running from the carb and mixing with the oil while it is sitting but what about while im driving it? It won't mix while its running and driving it around?
And if i replace the fuel filter y'all think that will fix the problem all together? |

Re: Fe290 gas in oil
The fuel pump is vacuum operated if the diaphragm inside goes bad it leaks gas into the oil through the vacuum line
